Jennifer McCarthy was born on November 1, 1972 in Chicago,
Illinois. Jenny has three sisters: Lynette, Jojo and Amy. Jenny graduated from
McAuley Liberal High School in Chicago, where she was the MVP of the softball
and field hockey teams.
After high school, Jenny attended Southern Illinois University
at Carbondale where she was studying nursing. She dropped out of nursing school
during her second year to pursue a modeling career. In 1993, Jenny was a
struggling model until she appeared as the Playboy Playmate of the Month in
October 1993. Then, she became the Playboy Playmate of the Year in 1994, for
which she earned $100,000 in cash and prizes. Jenny moved to Hollywood and
finally landed the VJ job on MTV's Singled Out. After a while, Jenny
wanted to pursue her own ideas, and she came up with The Jenny McCarthy Show.
Her first substantial movie role came in The Stupids (1996), opposite
Tom Arnold. She later appeared in the movie Basketball (1998), and she
actually turned down a role in Scary Movie (2000) to star in Scream
3 (2000). In January 2005, Jenny starred in the independent film Dirty
Love. Look for her next star appearance in Rollin (2005), currently
in production.
Jenny McCarthy married John Mallory Asher on September 11,
1999. Their son, Evan Joseph Asher, was born on May 18th 2002. Jenny
reportedly enjoys kickboxing and karate.
