Morgan Freeman (born June 1, 1937 in Memphis, Tennessee) is an American actor and film director who first became known in the American media through roles on the kids' show The Electric Company and on the soap opera Another World.
Although he has said in interviews that he has never been cast opposite a love interest in any of his movies, Freeman has been married twice. His first marriage was to Jeanette Adair Bradshaw (October 22, 1967 - 1979) (divorced). His second was to Myrna Colley-Lee (June 16, 1984 - present). He has two children from each of his wives. His sons' names are Alphonse and Saifoulaye. His daughters are Deena (who was adopted) and Morgana. Freeman worked as a mechanic in the U.S. Air Force. He has also earned his private pilot's license. In 1997, Freeman, together with Lori McCreary, founded the movie production company Revelations Entertainment. After four past nominations, he won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Clint Eastwood's Million Dollar Baby at the 77th academy awards on February 27, 2005.
